Leading ACP to the future with efficient and effective management.

Key Management Team ALANAlan embarked his journey as an entrepreneur at the young age of 21. Though inexperienced, he seized the opportunity to participate in the evolution of ICT (Information Communication and Technology) in Singapore’s Education System – IT Masterplan I (1997-2002). He started as a sole proprietor in 1997 to provide residential IT trainers to schools. Motivated with huge passion in ICT, he was able to lead a team of 4 staff back then to expand into current ACP group of companies with more than 100 staff both in Singapore and Philippines.

Alan’s journey as an entrepreneur has not been a bed of roses. Flawed decisions were made, such like investing in a training school which was physically located out of reach for his consumers losing more than a quarter million dollars. He also weathered through the Asian financial crisis, Dot-com bubble burst and SARS period and the in Singapore; whereby business was terribly slow. Nevertheless, his perseverance does prevail.

Under Alan’s innovative stewardship, ACP has won several major tenders awarded by Ministry of Education (MOE) and other reputable corporate bodies. The notable tenders include provision of ACP’s leading Learning Management System – CyberSphere to MOE registered schools; to National Library Board Academy (NLBA); Infocomm Development Authority (iDA); and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Through strategic partnerships with technological industry leaders such as Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel), Alan has also led ACP to be part of the consortium to provide Mother Tongue Languages (iMTL) Oracy Portal, which has been rolled out nationwide in phases with effect of year 2013.

Alan withholds the vision for ACP to be the leading provider of Education and ICT Solutions and the preferred partner to businesses in Asia. In recognition to Alan’s contributions to the ICT industry, Alan has been invited to share his experiences in several national and international Educational and ICT related conferences, which included the Intellectual Property Workshop organized by APEC, SME Internet Summit,the Annual E-Learning Standards Seminar by Information Technology Standards Committee (ITSC), NLB Entrepreneur talk and International Conference for Teaching and Learning in Technology. In 2009, he was conferred the Spirit of Enterprise Award. In 2011, he won The Most Promising Entrepreneur Award by Asia Promising Entrepreneurship Awards.

Alan graduated from University of London, Goldsmith College with a Bachelor (Honours) in Computing and Information System. He is a Full Member with the Singapore Institute of Director and a Fellow with the Chartered Management Institute. He is also a member of the People’s Association Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC) in Nee Soon South Division.

On a personal front, Alan is a committed believer in environmental issues, which he actively practices his GREEN ideas in the office. He is happily married with three children and enjoys spending quality time with his family.
