ACP's Media Literacy Programme inculcates a sense of looking at these media at a different view point. Students are guided to examine the media without prior prejudice and follow certain supervised steps to analyse, decipher and re-construct the message behind the media. Students will have the competency to apply these methods whenever they encountered a dubious media.
With our strong background in education, our quality curriculum and established reputation as partner for MOE schools, it is no wonder that ACP has been appointed by MOE to conduct the Media Literacy Programme for Primary 5 and Secondary 3 students.
WHY the need for Media Literacy ?
- “The lack of information” is an issue faced by the previous generation of students.
- “Information overload” is what students today face.
- Without proper guidance, our youths’ minds are being shaped by the messages they are bombarded with from the media, yet messages are subjective, and not all have positive intent and implications. Rather than waiting for our youths to learn via their own mistakes, it is high time to formally educate our youths on media literacy at their adolescent age.
